COVID-19 Information Update for May 17th
Stage 3 lockdown lifting.
As of this date, “rule of six” has been eased, meaning that outdoor groups can consist of up to 30 persons. This means we can now accept groups of larger than six persons, however our regular restriction on group sizes of 8 persons remains (this has nothing to do with the COVID situation but is merely imposed to ensure that we can cater to as many individual and small group travellers as possible). It is still the case that we must ask that groups do not interact.
We have made changes to our operating principles in order to ensure that our tours can be run safely during these trying times. This includes changing the route of our tour to ensure that we only perform stops in outdoor areas where social distancing is possible. As a result our tours are currently running at around 2 hours rather than the usual 3.
The government guidelines relating to our situation can be found here.
We have completed a risk assessment, the results of which can be found here: https://whiteroseyork.com/covi... As a result of this risk assessment we have been granted the Visit Britain “Good to Go” status to show our Covid-19 compliance.
Advance booking for our tours is not necessary, however we are still limited to 30 persons on each tour and so we will happily accept bookings if you want to guarantee a place on the tour. Please contact us by email at whiteroseyorktours@gmail.com or by phone or text on 07792 207679 if you would like to book your place on a tour. We will hold any pre-booked places until the tour start time.
We are being regularly updated by Visit York and Visit Britain on the current situation, and are continually monitoring events. We are asking visitors to take all sensible precautions, as will our guides, and we ask that if you have any COVID symptoms, or are in an at-risk category and have not been vaccinated, you do not attend our tours. We do have contactless payment facilities available.
