We recommend booking, especially for evenings and weekends. Walk-ins are welcome in the bar subject to availability. The garden operates on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved.

Seasonal British dishes with a contemporary twist, made with local produce where possible. Expect well-executed pub classics alongside more refined plates. The menu is available in the bar, restaurant and (weather permitting) the garden.

Set within two Grade II-listed buildings built into York’s city walls, just beyond Bootham Bar, The Fat Badger is a characterful inn moments from York Minster. Twelve individually styled bedrooms sit above a traditional bar serving Yorkshire real ales and seasonal British dishes.
