About Us
Learn about some amazing aircraft and the incredible people who designed, built and flew them.
We are one of the UK's largest independent aircraft museums, home to a range of fantastic machines, from replicas of the first flyers to Cold War jets and beyond. We have the only Halifax Mk III bomber in the UK and a mighty Victor tanker, along with iconic aircraft such as the Harrier and Dakota. We also have the only Dassault Mirage IV nuclear bomber outside France. All of them are housed on the site of a former WW2 RAF bomber base, used for hundreds of missions over Nazi occupied Europe.
We have exhibition rooms dedicated to Bomber Command, air gunners and airships - the giants of the air - along with an original 1942 RAF Control Tower and a replica of a French officers' mess - reflecting the period when RAF Elvington was home to French bomber crews during World War Two.
We have a cinema, shop and café serving a range of hot and cold food, drinks and snacks.
The site has good disabled access, is dog friendly and has free parking.
Most tickets are valid for free re-entry for twelve months.
