Visit York Strengthens National Partnerships Through York & North Yorkshire LVEP Engagement
Visit York attended the VisitEngland Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) Annual Conference on 28 January 2026 as part of its ongoing work within the York & North Yorkshire LVEP, reinforcing the partnership’s active role in national collaboration and knowledge sharing that supports the region’s visitor economy.
Delivered by VisitEngland and hosted in Leeds by the West Yorkshire LVEP, the conference brought together leaders from all 37 LVEPs to share best practice, explore shared challenges and identify opportunities to drive sustainable growth across England’s visitor economy. Visit York attended alongside Visit North Yorkshire, jointly representing the York & North Yorkshire LVEP within the national network.
The event highlighted the importance of partnership-led destination management and the vital role tourism plays in supporting jobs, local pride and thriving communities. Delegates took part in collaborative workshops focused on priority areas for LVEPs, including regenerative tourism, accessibility and inclusivity, skills development, international product development and travel trade, screen tourism, marketing delivery and the use of data to inform decision-making.
Participation in the conference enabled the York & North Yorkshire LVEP to engage directly with peer destinations, contribute to sector-wide conversations and remain closely aligned with emerging national priorities. The insights and shared learning from the day support the partnership’s collective approach to destination development and visitor economy growth across both urban and rural areas.
By continuing to engage at a national level through the LVEP programme, Visit York is helping to strengthen the York & North Yorkshire partnership, bringing valuable insight back to the region and supporting a coordinated, sustainable visitor economy that benefits local businesses, communities and the wider destination.
