Managed by Make It York, the Visit York Visitor Information Centre has officially opened the doors to its new city centre home at 28 Back Swinegate, continuing its role as a trusted first stop for visitors discovering York and the surrounding area.

The centre has relocated from its former premises at 21 Parliament Street, with its new home just 140 metres, or less than a two-minute walk, away. Open seven days a week, the new location provides a welcoming space in the heart of York where Visit York’s friendly and knowledgeable team continues to share expert advice and help visitors make the most of their time in the city.

With improved facilities and more space to showcase York’s attractions and experiences, the new premises have been designed to provide an enhanced visitor experience while maintaining the trusted service offered by the Visitor Information Centre.

Visitors can pick up maps, guides and brochures, as well as purchase tickets for attractions, experiences and transport. The team also sells the Visit York Pass, helping visitors discover more of the city during their stay.

The centre also incorporates the Visit York Gift Shop, offering a curated selection of locally made gifts and souvenirs and giving visitors another opportunity to discover products connected with York.

The relocation ensures that expert, face-to-face visitor information remains available from a convenient city centre location, while the additional space provides greater opportunities to showcase the breadth of attractions and experiences York has to offer.
