Developed and delivered by the Visit York digital team, new Experiences sub-categories have been introduced on visityork.org to help visitors discover activities that better match their interests and give members more ways to showcase their offer.

Launched in late July, the update allows members to tag their Experience listings using three new categories: Food & Drink Experiences, Days Out and Tours, and Family Friendly Experiences.

The categories are prominently featured within the website’s main navigation and through a convenient drop-down menu on the Experiences hub. Visitors can use the menu to refine the displayed listings according to their preferences, making it easier to explore relevant bookable activities across York.

Members can also continue to apply appropriate global categories to their listings. These categories provide further opportunities for experiences to appear across some of the highest-reaching pages on visityork.org, including themed content such as The Chocolate City, or Evenings in York.

By improving how visitors browse and discover experiences, the update supports greater visibility for member businesses and strengthens the presentation of York’s varied visitor offer. Visit York will continue to develop its digital channels to help members reach relevant audiences and inspire more people to experience the city.
