You can taste wild. It’s a particular freshness. And Britain is alive with it. Pearly Cow is devoted to respecting what thrives nearby – the herds, breeds, crops, and catches that sum up the area’s flavour. And in our first home of York, it is strictly the wildest produce of land and sea that we cook over flame or serve on ice.
Yorkshire is rightly proud of its produce. Farming has been its talent for thousands of years. There's something about the lay of its land that demands it. And the skills passed down are as simple as they are supreme. And then there are the more than 90 miles of famously rich fishing waters lining its dramatic coastline.
In a Georgian building full of warm character, where art and pantry produce hang, that bounty is what’s celebrated at Pearly Cow, York.
That and life made good by enjoying a little or a lot of what you love.
