Holiday World Show Dublin 2026: Visit York and Visit Leeds Champion the Region to Key Irish Audiences

Dublin

Visit York delivered a strong international promotional presence at the Holiday World Show Dublin 2026, working in partnership with Visit Leeds to champion York and the wider region to Irish consumers, travel trade and media as part of a shared drive to grow inbound visitation.

Held from 23–25 January 2026 at the RDS Simmonscourt, the Holiday World Show is Ireland’s largest consumer travel exhibition, attracting more than 25,000 visitors. Exhibiting together enabled Visit York and Visit Leeds to create a highly visible presence within a competitive international marketplace, positioning the two cities as complementary destinations offering distinct yet connected experiences.

The activity combined trade engagement during the dedicated Trade & Media morning with three days of consumer-facing promotion, allowing Visit York to speak directly to audiences actively planning future travel. Conversations on the stand showcased the breadth of York’s visitor offer, including its historic attractions, cultural experiences, seasonal events and ease of access from Ireland, while reinforcing the appeal of multi-city itineraries.

Accessibility formed an important part of these discussions, with daily flights from Ireland to Leeds Bradford Airport operated by two airlines highlighting a clear opportunity for future growth in inbound travel. This direct connectivity strengthens York’s appeal as an easy and attractive short-break destination for Irish visitors.

This collaborative, face-to-face engagement plays a vital role in Visit York’s international destination marketing work, enabling the team to promote the city in a personal and compelling way while strengthening York’s reputation as a welcoming and memorable destination. Working alongside Visit Leeds also amplified York’s visibility and reach, supporting tourism businesses by driving awareness, consideration and future demand from an important inbound market.

Ireland remains a key source of international visitors for York’s visitor economy. Through strategic partnerships and a strong presence at major overseas travel events, Visit York continues to invest in long-term market development, raise the city’s profile internationally and deliver tangible promotional value on behalf of its members.
