About Us
York Unlocked organises the opening of buildings and open spaces of architectural merit to the public, free of charge, to foster public appreciation of the built landscape of the City of York. This year buildings include; Bishopthorpe Palace, Peasholme House, Kings Manor, Lodge Duncombe Place, Monk Bar, Garforth House, St Peters School, many of the churches plus a selection of RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) award-winning projects. We also have some "insider" tours including The Star Inn The City and Minster Refectory
York Unlocked is based on the successful models created 30 yrs ago by the Open Doors and Open House festivals in UK and across Europe which attract thousands of ordinary people to explore their urban landscape and experience the great buildings of their city each year
Opening Times
