About Us
Tucked away behind bustling Goodramgate stands Bedern Hall, the 14th century dining hall of the Vicars Choral of York Minster.The area around the hall has changed much over the centuries - from medieval splendour, through Victorian slums to its final role before restoration as William Wright’s pork pie factory! The Hall welcome visitors and hosts weddings and events. It also is home to three of the City’s ancient Guilds.Enjoy coffee and cake or a glass of wine and a savoury snack in our peaceful courtyard cafe. Learn about the Vicars’ lifestyle and the things they left behind, discover the story of the restoration of the Hall, find out what a Cordwainer did and perhaps trace your family tree!
