The Watchers are returning home.
After spending the summer watching over York’s streets, green spaces, riversides and landmarks, all the Watchers of York sculptures will gather for one final appearance at York Minster.
From 3rd to 13th September 2026, you can experience the unique opportunity to explore the full display of twelve guardians together in one spectacular setting. Set against the stunning backdrop of York Minster’s Chapter House, surrounded by centuries of craftsmanship, stained glass and heritage, the Final Gathering offers a rare chance to experience the Watchers as a complete family of guardians before they leave to permanent homes.
Whether you spent the summer exploring the city in search of every sculpture or are discovering the Watchers for the first time, this special exhibition celebrates the creativity, stories and community spirit behind the trail.
The Final Gathering also marks the last opportunity to bid for a Watcher sculpture. Throughout the trail, each sculpture has been available through the Watchers silent auction, and visitors will be able to view the collection in full before bidding closes on Friday 11 September 2026. For those hoping to take home a piece of York’s newest cultural trail, this is your final chance to pick your favourite and place a bid.
Join us for the closing chapter of the Watchers of York trail and see the guardians gathered together one last time before they begin their next adventure.

Mon – Sat: 9.30am – 5pm (last admission 4pm)
Sun: 12.45pm – 3.30pm (last admission at 2.30pm).
