About
Learn all about the Ornamental Potager in the Sledmere Walled Garden, followed by a lunch using Walled Garden produce.
Join our Head Gardener, Jan, in The Walled Garden at Sledmere and discover more about the fruit and vegetables that we have in the gardens. Jan will chat about our plant choice, sowing, harvesting and how we use crop rotation and companion planting to minimise pests and diseases. Following the talk, you’ll head to the Courtyard Rooms for a light lunch, giving you a chance to taste some of the produce grown in The Walled Garden at Sledmere.
Lunch: Sledmere Walled Garden homemade vegetable quiche, new potatoes with chives and a fresh Summer side salad, served with a glass of Sledmere Apple Juice.
This is a chance to understand some of the behind-the-scenes work of the Sledmere Gardens Team and to see how we use some of the produce in our Coach House Cafe.
The talk lasts approximately 30 to 40 minutes, plus time for questions, followed by lunch in the Courtyard Rooms for lunch.
Meet at the entrance to The Walled Garden, 5 minutes prior to the start of the talk.

General Admission: Parkland and Gardens ticket, plus Walled Garden talk and a light lunch and drink: £32.50
