About
Enjoy a 2.5 hour needlefelt workshop, creating a beautiful Rose picture, in the Orangery at Sledmere.
Want to learn how to needle-felt or to improve your skills? Join York textile artist Brenda from Felty and Fabulous and make a picture of a Rose in this fun and relaxing 2.5 hour workshop.
Brenda will teach you all the needle-felting skills you need to create your very own Rose picture inspired by the displays featured in the Walled Garden here at Sledmere. Have-a-go at learning or improving a new skill, and enjoy the process of creating a single flower, a couple of flowers, or a scene. You will start by sketching your ideas and then learn 2D needle felting techniques, using a vintage blanket as a base and then creating a picture to take home. There will also be the option to add further detail and embellishment with embroidery.
All equipment is provided, including a selection of gorgeous wool colours to choose from and the option to purchase a frame to mount your masterpiece.
Beginners and experienced needlefelters welcome - Brenda will guide you throughout to get the most out of the session.
Your ticket also includes entry into the Parkland and Gardens at Sledmere.
Tickets must be booked in advance.
Accessibility - please note, there are 3 steps leading into The Orangery.
