Come and join Mad Alice, if you dare. Step aboard the North Yorkshire Moors Railway after dark for an immersive Halloween experience like no other.
Named after York's most infamous ghost, the Mad Alice Ghost Train carries you on a live theatrical journey across the moonlit night, with costumed storytellers, atmospheric entertainment and a complimentary York Gin drink to steady your nerves.
But hurry, Mad Alice's presence is for three evenings only, 18 October, 25 October and 1 November, with two services departing each night.
Who is the figure beckoning you into the dark?
Alice Smith, one of York's most legendary ghosts, leaves the city's haunted streets behind to stalk the moors instead. She is your host, narrator and guide through the gloom, performed live by a professional actor. Follow her into a world of Victorian Gothic Halloween, with lantern-lit carriages and the kind of ghost stories that cling to you long after you step back onto solid ground.
Gather your courage and your bravest companions, this is a night for grown-ups and fearless older teenagers, with a minimum age of 14 (Young Adult tickets available).
Anyone buying alcohol on board must be 18 or over and may be asked for ID. Fear not too much, though, for Alice means to thrill rather than truly terrify: think Gothic storytelling rather than horror film. If you love Halloween at its most atmospheric, then Mad Alice is waiting. Will you answer her call?
