FLAVOURS OF YORKSHIRE FOOD LOVERS FESTIVAL
Saturday 4 to Sunday 5 July 2026, Galtres Park (Pickering Showground)
A brand-new, free-entry, family-friendly festival of food, Flavours of Yorkshire is set to turn Pickering’s Galtres Park into the Glastonbury of Gastronomy this summer!
Star TV chef James Martin will be taking to the stage for live cookery demos in a pop-up food theatre, alongside local food heroes - UK Pastry Champion Florian Poirot; Gilly Robinson, founder of top-rated cookery school, The Cook’s Place; pasta entrepreneur Kathryn Bumby; Richie Stamp-Mason the development chef at The Tofoo Company and Masterchef finalist Oli Farrar. They’ll be sharing practical tips, seasonal inspiration and behind-the-scenes insights into their cooking.
Britain’s best, multi-award-winning producers and street food specialists will be gathering in the artisan marketplace to tempt your tastebuds with everything from bakes to beef, macaroons to moonshine, pasta to preserves, sweets to scotch eggs, or curry to cheese. You’ll get plenty of opportunity to taste, and also to meet the makers first-hand to discover the stories behind their products, and their use of local ingredients.
Fancy yourself a genius of the grill? Then don’t miss The Whole Hog Barbecue competition – which the public are challenged to enter! With all meat provided, competitors use their own flavourings and skill to win over the judges with a vast array of pork products. Entries must be made at compbbquk.com/whole-hog-2026 by 19 June to secure a spot.
But’s that not all…
- There’s live music, plus a family funfair and inflatables zone guaranteed to keep children entertained
- On ‘Electric Avenue’, you can explore next-gen electric cars and bikes, with a showcase of familiar models as well as new-to-the-UK manufacturers for anyone considering the switch to electric.
- You won’t even miss the British Grand Prix – it’ll be shown on the big screen in the bar area!
Admission to the festival is free, with free car and coach parking on-site to keep the cost to visitors low.
Tickets must be booked in advance for James Martin’s demos on Saturday 4 July (ranging from £15 for a standing place to £40 for VIP front row seats), but those demos taking place on Sunday are free of charge.
Flavours of Yorkshire takes place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July 2026 at Galtres Park (formerly known as Pickering Showground), Pickering YO18 8EA.
