Trinity View
About Us
Trinity View is a beautifully renovated ground-floor apartment located on the corner of Micklegate and Trinity Lane, right in the heart of historic York.
Set on the original Roman road into Eboracum and at what was once the royal entrance to the city in medieval times, Trinity View has witnessed centuries of York’s remarkable history. Dating back to 1780, the building has served many fascinating purposes over the years. Originally a prestigious Georgian residence, it has since been a vicarage, home to York’s Magic Lantern Society and séances, a pharmacist’s shop, and even York’s first greengrocer. It has also housed a stonemason serving Trinity Church and Jacob’s Well, as well as a blacksmith for the York to London stagecoach. At one point, the property accommodated three families - 15 residents in total - along with their horses.
Now carefully restored to its former glory as an English Heritage Listed Building, the apartment retains its original character and charm. It is filled with antiques, beautiful period features, and thoughtful details celebrating its unique heritage.
Just a five-minute walk from the train station and moments from York’s many attractions, the apartment offers both convenience and tranquillity. Despite its vibrant central location, secondary glazing and traditional wooden shutters ensure peace and quiet. A private courtyard garden with seating provides a delightful outdoor space to relax.
Inside, the apartment is light, spacious, and elegantly furnished. There is a separate, well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, washer/dryer, and fridge/freezer. The generous living room is comfortably furnished, while the luxurious bathroom features a roll-top slipper bath and separate shower enclosure.
The bedroom offers large fitted wardrobes and a stunning double bed dating from the same period as the house itself. Underfloor heating throughout ensures comfort all year round.
Trinity View is a truly special place to stay - the perfect base from which to explore the timeless beauty of York.
