York Unlocked 2024

Join us and explore 50 unique buildings and open spaces across York, all free of charge. This year, you can enjoy exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of the York Art Gallery, the Assembly Rooms, and Terry’s Clock Tower. Our “Architecture on the Ouse” cruise returns at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday (book in advance), as well as walking tours of historic pubs and churches.
Supported by York Bid, York Common Good Trust, RIBA York, and dedicated volunteers, this inclusive event offers a rare chance to experience York’s architectural and historic treasures.
Some buildings require tickets to gain access. Tickets will be released on 7 September at 10:00 am—free entry for all buildings, including ticketed ones.
