Book a free ticket to visit our boutique working distillery and soak up the atmosphere while enjoying some of the world’s finest gins – all made right here in York.
Our speakeasy-style bar serves the full York Gin collection a perfect way to enjoy a guided flight of gins.
At the Bar
- Classic G&Ts – from £5 with tasting notes and an expert on hand
- York Gin Flights – £14 for 3 gins with paired tonics
Each flight includes three perfect serves (25ml each) plus a tasting guide. A York Gin expert is always on hand to answer questions. - If you are accompanying a gin lover, but not keen on gin yourself, we have a small curated selection of lovely wine & local beers
Go Deeper – Experiences to Book
- York Gin Tasting Experience (£35): A one-hour guided tasting with history, flavour tips and expert guidance.
- Gin School: A three-hour experience creating your own unique bottle of gin.
- Cocktail Masterclass: Hands-on cocktail making – perfect for groups.
Guided tastings usually run at 4pm daily. If a session is full, the bar is reserved for participants between 4–6pm. If spaces remain, you can book online or at the bar.
Opening Hours
- Daily: 12:00–18:00 (later on some evenings)
- Please check if planning to visit 16:00–18:00 as guided tastings may be running - but you may be able book your place at the bar and join too.
Private bookings and gin school sessions sometimes mean limited bar space.
Private Events
We occasionally close for private bookings and gin school sessions (especially at weekends). If we’re busy on arrival, we’ll advise the next available time.
Booking Details
Booking is free and holds a spot in the bar. You simply pay for what you choose on arrival.
If you can’t make it, please cancel via your confirmation – it helps us free up space.

No on-site parking unless you're a guest at Middleton's hotel. Nearest parking: St George’s Field Car Park (5 minutes’ walk).
Accessibility
The building has steps, with a railing. . The Distillery doesn't have its own toilet facilities. We share the facilities with Middleton's hotel. The toilets are just past reception (just up the steps from The Distillery). We have a hearing loop available.
Dog Friendly
Yes - dogs are welcome - encouraged even. Please keep your furry friend on a lead.
