Come stargazing at Ampleforth Abbey with expert astronomers Richard Darn and Neill Sanders.

This is an exciting time to be viewing the night skies, with Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Venus all visible with the naked eye. With the help of a telescope you may see Uranus and Neptune as well.

The evening will begin with a talk*, and then Richard and Neill will take you outside and guide you through the wonders visible in the night sky.

Suitable for families and children over 6 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Telescopes provided, but please bring binoculars and a torch/headtorch if you have them. Wrap up warm. Hot drink or squash provided.

Held in association with with the Howardian Hills National Landscape and Go Stargazing.

*Due to the layout of the building, the talk will take place in a room which is only accessible via 2 flights of stairs. Please note this event is only suitable for people who are able to navigate stairs.
