York Ice Trail 2026: An Enchanted City
A Make It York Event
This February, York was transformed into an Enchanted City as a mysterious spell swept through the historic streets. Visitors followed the trail to discover dazzling ice sculptures inspired by the weird and wonderful. Each stop revealed something new, with many families joining the adventure to uncover the story before the magic melted away.
New for 2026, the Ice Village brought even more family-friendly fun with themed traders serving up magical treats. Ice Carving Masterclasses proved popular too, giving participants the chance to learn how to sculpt their own polar bear.
The Visit York Visitor Information Centre on Parliament Street was on hand throughout the weekend to help visitors make the most of their icy adventure, while Shambles Food Court offered the perfect spot to warm up with delicious street food.
Thank you to everyone who joined the trail. Keep an eye on this page and our social channels for future York Ice Trail updates!
