Join Shambles Market for a special evening celebrating local makers, independent traders and the next generation of market talent.

Taking place on 29 July, the Makers Market will bring together around 30 local craft and artisan traders, showcasing a brilliant selection of locally made and Yorkshire-inspired goods. Visitors can browse unique products, support independent businesses and enjoy the lively evening atmosphere alongside Shambles Market’s existing food court traders.

The event will also host the local heat of the Young Trader of the Year Competition, a national initiative from the NMTF designed to encourage and discover the market traders of the future.

Traders aged between 16 and 30 will take part, competing for a place in the 2026 regional final. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support emerging business talent, discover fresh ideas and celebrate York’s thriving independent scene.
