Yorkshire Day Events

Outdoors Summer

Join us for a week of summer Yorkshire fun!

Yorkshire Day was first celebrated on August 1, 1975, by the Yorkshire Ridings Society. However, it wasn’t until 1985 that it became an official event, marked by the first 'Official Yorkshire Day Civic Celebration' in York.

Celebrate Yorkshire Day in the heart of York - a city bursting with charm and Yorkshire spirit. Whether you're exploring iconic attractions, relaxing in beautiful gardens, or joining in the family-friendly festivities, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Enjoy the buzz of the market on Parliament Street, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of Shambles Market and its Food Court.
