About
Last August we saw the striking wave of hand fans sweeping across the City as residents and tourists rediscovered the Georgian era with the very first York Georgian Festival.
We are back and kicking off day one with the return of one of our country’s most beloved authors, Terry Deary! Showcasing his new book ‘A History of Britain in Ten Enemies’ this is a must see for the grown-up fans of Horrible Histories.
After much demand we will also host the first York Georgian Ball at the Great Assembly Rooms, known to residents as ASK Italian on Blake Street. A historically accurate ballroom that played host to the same dances and dinners in the 18th and 19th Century. Get ready to see guests dressed in their finest as they country dance under the chandeliers!
Throughout the festival there will be tours, talks and truly fascinating hidden Georgian gems across the City so dust off your petticoat and peruse the festival programme now!
Please note: events take place throughout the City, check the location of your events when booking.
