About
Join one of our Historic Pub`n Jazz tours to discover an alternative history of York.
The Wednesday tour will have a Georgian theme, covering buildings erected or licensed during that period. You can finish the evening in a free venue being entertained with cool jazz from Yorkshire based musicians.
York has a reputation for having a pub for everyday of the year. Find out about some of the oldest as well as the people and events associated with them. Georgian York was a period of great change and building as well as events. Visit some of those structures and hear about inquests, riots, politics, religious influence and bizarre entertainments. York's pub history provides a strong picture of the social life of the city.

Laura 2023 "Had an amazing tour today with Keith. He was so engaging and seemed to know just about everything that had happened in the city for the last 2000 years! Any questions we had he knew the answers to and it's the best city tour I've ever been on. Thank you so much for an amazing day!"

Fiona Laing: i weekend December 2021
"They say there is a bar for each day of the year in York. They come in all shapes and sizes and there is even a walking tour, which traces their history, some dating back to the 16th century. Keith Martin will share his passion for York's oldest pubs in return for a donation to Keep Your Pet a charity which helps people keep their animals at difficult times"
If you wish to donate to Keep Your Pet please use this link and please refer to the KYP Historic Pub Walks
All money raised from the walks will support Keep Your Pet, a charity run by Age Uk York. This project has been established to help older people look after their pets at times of health or other difficulties.
