Pubs and Jazz are a great combination. On this walk you can discover the history of York's old pubs and experience the delight of a live jazz gig.

Take this unique guided walk through the city and finish the evening with cool jazz in one of York's free venues being entertained by the Yorkshire based Jazzville Quartet.

Discover an alternative history of York with its reputation for having a pub for everyday of the year. Find out about some of the oldest as well as the people and events associated with them. Inquests, riots, politics, plagues, religious influence, bizarre entertainments and strange auctions, York's pub history provides a strong picture of the social life of the city.

Walks start from outside the National Trust shop, YO1 7LG at the junction of College Street and Goodramgate. Tours last for approx. 1.5-2 hours, before finishing with a pub based jazz gig. On Wednesdays this will be the Market Tavern.
