About
Join Professor of Astrophysics, discoverer of exoplanets, and Teessider Carole Haswell, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the North York Moors Dark Skies Festival.
This interactive online presentation will delve into how the skies above the National Park have evolved in the last 10 years.
During the online event, Carole will share some of the latest breath-taking images from space telescopes, explain how astronomers use light to explore the life cycles of stars and planets, and share some of her adventures in astronomy.
This online event is an effort from Carole Haswell and the North York Moors National Park to make learning about astronomy and the skies above us accessible to all.
If you would like to attend this event but do not have the means to pay, please contact tourism@northyorkmoors.org.uk.
All money raised from this event will go towards the purchase of equipment which will be used by children experiencing a ‘night out under the stars’. This is part of the North York Moors National Parks ongoing engagement work, linking children from urban areas who would not normally have such an opportunity.
