Ireland meets Sweden for a melting pot of traditional music from both cultures
Andy Irvine is one of the great Irish singers; his voice gets to the very soul of the country. Renowned as a ‘tradition in himself’, this acclaimed musician, singer and songwriter has maintained his highly individual performing skills throughout his 60-year career – a masterful teller of tales, and maker of music.
Following a tour of Sweden with the Swedish folk band Quilty – designed to celebrate their 30th anniversary year – Andy and Quilty return to the UK with a concert programme consisting of both Irish and Swedish traditional music – adding a new facet to the world music influences that have been Andy Irvine’s trademark throughout his career.
