Located within the York Stadium Leisure Complex at Monks Cross, Huntington, just 3 miles from York City centre, York Leisure Centre is the city's newest leisure facility.
Whether you're visiting York for a weekend break, family holiday or day trip, there's something for everyone under one roof. Perfect for rainy days, keeping active or letting the kids burn off energy, the centre offers a wide range of exciting activities for all ages.
Challenge yourself in our popular Clip 'N Climb Arena, featuring colourful 7.5m-high climbing walls designed for both children and adults. Suitable from age 4+, each climbing wall uses an automatic belay system, providing a safe and exciting experience for first-time climbers and seasoned adventurers alike.
Families with younger children can enjoy our Pop-Up Soft Play sessions, featuring bouncy castles, obstacle courses and a dedicated toddler zone with engaging soft play equipment. These popular sessions provide the perfect space for children up to 10 years old to play, explore and have fun.
For water lovers, York Leisure Centre boasts a 25-metre, six-lane swimming pool, a learner pool and a toddler splash pool complete with interactive water jets. Families can also enjoy our popular fun swim sessions featuring floats, toys and music, making every visit extra special.
Looking to stay active during your visit? Our spacious modern gym overlooks the iconic LNER Community Stadium pitch and is complemented by an extensive fitness class programme, including Group Cycling, Yoga, Pilates, Circuits and Power Pump.
You can also enjoy a friendly game of Badminton, Pickleball or Table tennis in our versatile sports hall.

The centre is open every day. For specific sessions please check the booking link on our website.
- Is parking available?
Parking is available. There are a number of car parks near by. Car parking is free for 4 hours and 2 hours on match days (Match days are advertised at the centres entrance).
- Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes, it is possible to pay on the day at the reception desk. However, we recommend booking online in advance to guarantee your booking as some sessions sell out.
