York is ready to give you a warm welcome once again. Now that we have reached 17 May, most of the city is back open. There are so many ways for you to #LoveYork and have a brilliant experience.

When you’re ready to return, here’s a handy list of what to expect and tips on how to make the most of your trip to York.

Plan Ahead

To make the most of your visit, you will definitely need to plan ahead. Things will be a bit different on your next trip as many experiences require pre-booking, opening times may vary and social distancing measures will be in place. Please go online and check out the websites of the attractions, shops, restaurants and hotels that you plan to visit.

There’s a lot to love in York. It doesn’t matter if you’re an old romantic or an unsentimental grump; York is sure to win your heart. Whether it’s your first time, or you want to fall in love with the city all over again, find out the ways to #LoveYork and start planning your trip now. If you’re not sure what to do, we’ve got the lowdown on the best things to do in the city, what’s open, and tons of inspiration.

As you start to build your York itinerary ahead of your visit, you may have noticed the ‘We’re Good to Go’ logo (pictured above). Businesses presenting the logo will have been awarded this by VisitEngland as a means of reassuring you that a high standard of measures are in place, following Government and public health guidance. Watch our brand-new video explaining how the city is working to keep you safe. All businesses that are open will have their own measures in place, so we advise you to go online and find out more about their own standards.
