Ellen from Indie Food Tours, who runs regular food tours in York, is collaborating with local storyteller, content creator and foodie, Tara from Story By Tara.
Together, they’ve designed a tour around their personal favourite food and drinks spots, and you are invited.

In case you’ve never done a food tour before, here’s the idea:
Instead of sitting down for one big meal, you’ll explore the city on foot, stopping at a series of handpicked venues along the way. At each stop, you’ll enjoy a tasting, building up to a generous, progressive feast.
A bit of walking, a lot of eating, plenty of discovering in between.
By the end, you’ll have experienced York in a way that’s far more memorable (and delicious) than a traditional day out.

What makes this tour truly different from your standard meal out, is the storytelling.
Alongside incredible food, you’ll hear the stories behind the places, the people, and the city itself — from hidden histories to personal anecdotes that bring York to life in a whole new way.

The Route
Indie Food Tours runs regular guided food tours, as well as offering a self-guided food tour where you can explore the city’s independent food scene at your own pace.
But this tour will be different. Never-on-a-tour before venues, personal favourites from both Ellen and Tara, and a couple of cheeky drinks along the way too!
Expect brunch dishes, coffee and cake, dumplings, comfort food, warming curries, gin tastings, cocktail samples and much, much more!
You’ll spend a full afternoon exploring with your taste buds, with some sample stops, and some substantial stops too, covering just over a mile on foot and of course taking in York's legendary landmarks.
