Noted for its unwavering commitment to local talent and community-driven events, the festival places local chefs and cooks at the forefront, and a distinct market with over 80 stands throughout the event.
Immerse yourself in citywide tastings, diverse events, engaging demonstrations, and vibrant stands scattered across York's historic streets, buildings, and gardens. Embark on a culinary adventure with Sampling Trails, Food Tours and Scavenger Hunts.
At the heart of this celebration lies the Food Factory, offering immersive, hands-on cookery workshops free of charge for visitors of all ages. The Schools Program extends this passion, welcoming 1200 students to cultivate a love for homemade, wholesome, and locally sourced cuisine.
The York Food Festival also provides diverse local communities with the opportunity to engage in cultural exchange through food, music, and storytelling, emphasising diversity and inclusivity with the food industry in York. Music takes centre stage at the Live for St. Leonards Music Event, featuring two stages with local bands and singer-songwriters in a free musical extravaganza, while donations support St. Leonards, York's local Hospice.
