About
Have you faced the fiery poo-bison? Been chased round a garden by an escaped bear? Or lugged a rotting Arctic whale round town on a cart? No? Then you've obviously not been on The Filthy, Beastly Tour of York!
Join York's Hidden History this summer for some beastly family fun. Over the course of a 60-75-minute city-centre stroll, led by our expert guide, you'll discover some of the strangest and smelliest of York's secrets.
Aimed at children aged 6 and over, the Filthy, Beastly Tour of York begins below Clifford's Tower, which is really a king's toilet. We'll then head down to the river, watching out for Viking stools and rotten whales, before making our way to York Museum Gardens, home of lions, hyaenas, and a museum built on poo...
Is this the number two tour of York? Or the city's turd-best family event? The only way to find out is to join The Filthy, Beastly Tour of York!
2pm-3.15pm, Wednesday 6th and 20th of August. Book your tickets via Eventbrite.

Welcome to York - the Royal and River routes
Our 'Welcome to York' walks come in two varieties: the Royal Route and the River Route. On the Royal Route we’ll ramble regally through the historic heart of York, meeting imperial Romans, Viking lords, and Kings of England. On the River Route we’ll take a waterside walk through 2000 years of amazing history, telling tales of fights and floods, merchants and monks, queens and castles.
Both walks begin outside the Yorkshire Museum, in York Museum Gardens, and finish by Clifford's Tower, near York Castle Museum. Find out more, and book your tickets, on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/welcome-to-york-walks-4476003
