About
Step back in time as we celebrate York clockmaker and inventor, Henry Hindley (1701 – 1771).
The Hindley turret clock at the Bar Convent is the best example in York and is one of the most important in the UK.
Join us to take a closer look at the Hindley clocks in our collections, explore Hindley’s contribution to the City and see his Blue Plaque displayed for the first time on loan from York Civic Trust.
For those visiting during York Georgian Festival, please be aware mass will be taking place in our Georgian Chapel on Friday, 12-12:30, all faiths and none are welcome to join!
