York Residents' Festival 2026: Even More to Explore!
Organised by Make It York, the York Residents’ Festival 2026 offers a wealth of exclusive deals for York residents. This year, the festival is taking place 31st January and 1st February 2026.

How do I take part? To get involved, please present a valid York Card, student card or identity card that proves York residency. If presenting an identity card, this must clearly state 'York' (e.g. driving licence or older person's bus pass).

St Columba's York
An excellent opportunity to view the three large pre-Raphaelite stained-glass windows from the inside of this church built in 1879, originally for Presbyterians who came to work on the railway. An opportunity also for children to search for the mice and squirrel carvings. The added bonus is the free organ concert on Saturday at 12.00pm. Find out more about the church here.

York Bike Belles
Be pedalled along in style to see the Minster! For the Saturday of Residents’ Weekend (31st Jan), York Bike Belles will be running FREE all ability Cycling Without Age rickshaw-style rides. Free rides will go from Cycle Heaven in Fulford, to the Minster and back. Rides must be booked in advance. The Church of St Mary Bishophill Junior, York
The Grade1 Church of St Mary Bishophill Junior is the oldest working church building in York, dating back to the early 11th century. It has Roman, Anglo-Scandinavian and Norman fabric and a a fascinating history. It contains a large Roman arch, Saxon stone tower, medieval architecture and interesting grave slabs. They hold regular services with limited access at other times.
The Church Council is pleased to open the church to visitors between midday and 4pm on Saturday 31st January and Sunday 1st February 2026. Greeters and a printed guide to the church will be available to visitors. Free entry. No-pre booking is required and reference to the church can be found on its website here.
