A short stroll offers the chance to step into Ampleforth’s historic orchard, home to over 1,500 trees and more than 50 varieties of apple, which naturally ripen between August and January. This beautiful space is the perfect way to experience the rhythm of the seasons.

The orchard has been part of Abbey life for generations, with the apples used to create Ampleforth’s famous full juice cider and apple juice. At certain times of the year, you can enjoy the rare opportunity to discover the traditions behind the orchard and Pick Your Own Apples.
