Visit York Social Media Giveaways - Terms & Conditions for Participating Businesses
By submitting a prize for inclusion in a Visit York social media giveaway, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Prize Provision
- Businesses must provide accurate details of the prize being offered, including description, value and any specific restrictions (e.g. blackout dates, age limits, usage terms).
- Once submitted and promoted, the prize is considered a firm commitment. The business is legally responsible for honouring the prize as described.
2. Prize Fulfilment
- Businesses are solely responsible for supplying the prize directly to the winner within 14 days, and for covering any associated costs (e.g. postage, booking fees, packaging, administration).
- Visit York will share the winner’s contact details with the business, but will not act as an intermediary in prize fulfilment.
- An external contact email must be provided to the prize winner for direct communication.
3. Substitutions & Withdrawals
- Prizes cannot be withdrawn once the giveaway has been promoted.
- If, due to circumstances beyond your control, you cannot provide the original prize, you must supply an alternative of equal or greater value.
4. Liability
- Visit York accepts no responsibility for the provision, delivery, quality or experience of the prize.
- Any disputes, complaints or claims relating to the prize are solely between the business and the winner.
- Businesses agree to indemnify Visit York against any claims, losses or damages arising from the failure to provide or honour the prize.
5. Deadlines & Promotion
- Prize details and images must be submitted at least 5 working days before the scheduled giveaway date.
- Visit York reserves the right to edit or decline submissions if they are unsuitable for promotional purposes.
6. Marketing Permissions
- By submitting a prize, you confirm you have full copyright ownership of any images supplied and full permission from any individuals featured.
- You grant Visit York the right to use the prize description and images for promotional purposes across its channels.
7. Acceptance of Terms
- Submission of a prize via the Visit York Giveaway Form constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
