About
York Photo walks are about learning and developing your photography knowledge, whilst exploring York’s wonderful history, people and architecture. The aim is to inspire you to stretch your creative legs when you are out and about with your camera.
We have a number of walks to choose from: Our classic 3 hour York Photo Walk - The Big one, visiting York Minster, the city walls, the famous Shambles, Fossgate, The Merchant Adventurers Hall, and the Shambles Market. Finishing with the Museum Gardens with visits to The Hospitium, and St Mary’s Abbey.
The walk takes approximately 3 hours
Every Wednesday at 1.00pm and Friday at 10:00 am, we meet at York Art Gallery
For those with less time we have 3 different 1 hour bite size walks. These centre around the Museum Gardens, Kings square and The Shambles, or The Bar Walls and York Minster each walk runs twice a week, see the website for all the details. HERE

Come and join us if you want to just learn the basics, or improve your photography skills the walk will have top tips for all abilities. Bring any camera whether it is a DSLR, Point and shoot, mobile or tablet camera. We will explore how to improve your composition in photography. Learn how to see creatively and encourage you to see the world with an artistic eye.
