Free Tour

Join us over York Attractions Week for a FREE tour of the fascinating Ampleforth Abbey Church designed by eminent architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, normally worth £7.50 per person.

You'll be led by a monk who will take you on a journey of exploration through the church's history and striking architecture. You'll visit rarely seen areas of the church including the Crypt and learn interesting facts about its many chapels and other fascinating features.

Tours take place Thursdays and Sundays at 2pm. Secure your tickets online here.

During your visit, our Visitor Centre, Tea Room and Shop will also be open 10am - 5pm, where you can learn more about the story of Ampleforth Abbey and enjoy hearty home-cooked food in a beautiful setting. Entry is free of charge.
