Inspired by the Marathon Du Medoc in France's wine region, the Malton 10K gourmet food and wineathlon goes through an area of Yorkshire famous for its award-winning local produce and spectacular countryside.
Starting and finishing in Malton's pretty market place, there will be various food and drink stops around the pretty 10k course. Runners are encouraged to take their time, pace themselves and enjoy the party atmosphere, food themed fancy dress (optional) and gourmet food stops.
On offer will be local specialties like award-winning craft beer, artisan gin, miniature Yorkshire puddings with roast beef and even macarons from the UK pastry champion!
Marathon du Malton: Malton 10k: Event Highlights
•Run, walk or stagger through beautiful Yorkshire countryside!
•Join teams of runners in fancy dress and sample locally produced food & drink along the 10k route. Your ticket includes all the food and drink samples on course
•If you just want to spectate, come and enjoy the party atmosphere at the start and finish in the picturesque town of Malton, Yorkshire’s Food Capital
•Explore Malton’s artisan food scene.
There are three race options for 2024 with an option for everyone so whether you would prefer to run, jog or walk the course. They are as follows:
The Malton 10K entry (previously known as Le Sans Arret category):
This one does not include the food & drink element and is for those who just want to run the 10k course;
The Classique:
This one is exactly the same as previous years. Entrants are encouraged to come in food themed fancy dress (but this is entirely optional) and enjoy the gourmet food & drink stops along the way;
The 'Escargot':
This one is for those who would prefer to walk or stagger their way around the course and enjoy the event (including the gourmet food & drink stops) at a much more leisurely pace.
Numbers for the 'Classique' and 'Escargot' entries are strictly limited because we need to organise catering for all the food and drink stops along the course - so do not delay, book your place today! Children are permitted to take part in the Escargot race only.
Course Information
The course is a mix of urban and rural landscapes, so may not be suitable for all. However at both of the previous events a participant in a wheelchair has completed the course with the help of their friends lifting the chair over the kissing gates while they hobbled through the gates. Previously a couple completed the course with a runners buggy and several runners have been accompanied by their dogs (on leads).
This is much more than just a race, the Marathon Du Malton is an experience!

Entries close at 06.00 on Sunday 15th September 2024 for the Malton 10k race.
