About

Overview

Led by professional bat surveyor, Jess Botha. Family friendly, on safe streets, bat detectors provided.

Come and see Pipistrelle bats wheeling around Baile Hill and listen to their echo location calls through professional bat meters. We’ll most likely see Common Pipistrelles, probably Soprano Pipistrelles as well, and if we’re lucky Daubenton bats skimming the surface of the Ouse.

Very suitable for kids, we’ll be walking on level pavements in quite streets, also wheelchair-friendly. Convene inside Victoria Bar at 8 pm.

Suggested donation £5 per ticket goes to Friends Of York Walls, so that we can continue to provide experiences in York.

NB Bat sightings are not guaranteed - if it’s windy or raining the bats won’t fly so we will postpone to the following evening or refund.
