Guided Tasting Experience
Join an immersive journey as you sample five premium rums from local distiller Hooting Owl, each one perfectly matched with chocolate to showcase their complementary flavours. Alongside the tastings, our expert guides will share the fascinating stories - from York’s celebrated chocolate-making families to rum’s voyage from sugarcane fields to a beloved spirit.

Rum Samples:

• Mocha Rum - Although technically a flavoured white rum, its rich amber colour and warming notes of chocolate, coffee and toasted marshmallow give it the depth of a dark spirit.
• Coconut Rum - Smooth and velvety with a vibrant tropical character, this spiced cane rum balances coconut with hints of vanilla and allspice berries.
• Tipsy Toad Dark Rum - Full-bodied and bold, this dark rum blends hawthorn berries, sarsaparilla and tonka beans.
• Hooting Owl Dark Rum - A refined Guyanese rum given a distinctive twist with Hooting Owl’s secret blend of botanicals, steeped and redistilled for a uniquely smooth, handcrafted finish.
• Mystery Rum - To round off the tasting, enjoy a surprise final pairing - a secret rum revealed on the day.
