Step into a magical historic home dressed for the season. Each room is beautifully decorated with festive touches inspired by the stories of past residents, including Frank Green, the house’s last owner.

• Explore the house at your own pace – no guided tours during the festive season.
• Discover bespoke decorations, many handmade by volunteers and local community groups.
• Each room reflects a different chapter of the house’s rich history.

Especially for families

• Take on the Stained-Glass Star Spotter Trail – a fun challenge for younger visitors.
• Look out for handcrafted stars by local artist Megan from Woodside Stained Glass.

A lighter & quieter Christmas

• Wednesdays, 2pm–4pm
• For those who prefer a calmer experience: lights on, shutters open, and no music.

Christmas shopping in York

• Visit the National Trust shop just around the corner.
• Find festive gifts, decorations, artisan crafts, and even a needle felting kit to make your own Treasurer’s House mouse.

Festive food & drink

• Escape the city bustle in the downstairs café.
