The Game Dinner Series
A celebration of Yorkshire game, gathered from the land around us.
Join us at The Abbey Inn for a series of exceptional evenings this British Game Season, celebrating the rich, distinctive flavours of North Yorkshire’s countryside.
Across three dates in November, December and January, Executive Chef Callum Leslie and Head Chef Duncan Moran will create a series of specially curated menus championing exceptional local game, sourced from the surrounding landscapes of Oldstead and Byland.
Expect thoughtful, ingredient-led cooking that celebrates game at its finest - from pheasant and fallow deer to mallard and partridge, with vibrant seasonal accompaniments drawn from the Yorkshire landscape including our own family farm and kitchen garden.
Each dinner will offer a unique expression of the season, with menus evolving according to what is available from the land. A celebration of provenance and the remarkable produce on our doorstep.
