York Cocoa Works is a working, learning chocolate factory where visitors can see, eat and craft their very own chocolate using rare and flavourful cocoa beans sourced from farms and communities around the world. With the whole production process fully observable the company celebrate the origins of their ingredients and have a passion for reigniting the lost art of chocolate making in York.

Our Cocoa Works café is a sweet haven for all chocolate lovers! Our menu offers a choice of luxurious seasonal drinking chocolates and handmade cakes served daily between 9.00am – 5.30pm, 7 days a week.

Chocolate lovers are invited to indulge with our take on an Afternoon Tea! Enjoy an array of fresh, homemade chocolate cakes and treats in the surrounds of our chocolate manufactory. Your experience will start with a chocolate tasting followed by a chocolate drink of your choice and a selection of our handmade chocolate cakes.

Chocolate Manufactory Tasting Journey

During this 45 minute guided tasting tour discover our cocoa origins, the history of chocolate in York and how we create chocolate from cocoa beans in our Manufactory. The experience concludes with a special tasting of our cocoa and chocolate, where you will discover the different origins, strengths and flavour notes within our range. Following the journey, you are invited to enjoy a discount across our whole product range.
