Grand Central Giveaway Terms & Conditions

The return train tickets are only valid for Standard class travel on Grand Central trains originating from the following stations: Sunderland, Hartlepool, Eaglescliffe, Northallerton, Thirsk, Peterborough, and London.

The overnight stay is one night in a Club Double Bedroom at Malmaison York, complete with a full cooked breakfast for two people. This stay is valid for use within 6 months of the competition end date and is subject to availability. The stay is only valid on Sunday - Thursday nights and excludes school half-term holiday dates, York Races dates, and the entire month of December. Any additional charges incurred during the stay must be settled upon check-out prior to departure.

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF WINNING.

Sponsor: The Sponsor of this competition is Grand Central.

Eligibility: This competition (the "Giveaway") is open to entrants aged 18 or over who enter via Visit York social media channels. The Giveaway is open to UK residents only and is void where prohibited by law. Employees, independent contractors, interns, officers, directors, and agents of Grand Central (the "Sponsor"), their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household are not eligible to participate in the Giveaway. The Giveaway is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.

Agreement to Rules: By entering the Giveaway, the contestant ("You") agree to comply with and abide by these Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, and you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, you agree to accept the Sponsor's decisions as final and binding in relation to the content of this campaign. Entrants should contact the Sponsor with any questions, comments, or issues related to the Giveaway.

Entry Period: The Giveaway begins once the social media post is published and ends 7 days after (the "Entry Period"). Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period will not be eligible.

How to Enter: The Giveaway must be entered by following the instructions in the social media post. The entry must fulfill all Giveaway requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules may be disqualified at the Sponsor's sole discretion. You must provide the information requested. You may not enter more than once. If you use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules, your submission may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.

Prizes: The winner(s) of the Giveaway (the "Winner") will receive the prize as detailed in the social media post. Actual/appraised value of prizes may differ at the time of prize award. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution is permitted, except at the Sponsor's discretion. The prize is non-transferable. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the Winner. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use the Winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

Odds of Winning: The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Winner Selection and Notification: The Winner will be selected by random draw under the supervision of the Sponsor. The Winner will be notified within 7 days of winner selection. The Sponsor will contact the Winner directly via the information provided at the time of entry. The Winner must respond and claim the prize within 28 days of the notification. If the Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within this time frame, the prize may be forfeited, and an alternate Winner selected. The prize is conditional upon compliance with any and all applicable laws and regulations.

Unforeseen Events: The Sponsor is not responsible for any unforeseen events that may prevent or delay the fulfilment of the prize, such as strikes, natural disasters, or other circumstances beyond their control. In such cases, the Sponsor will work with the Winner to arrange an alternative, where feasible.

Data Protection: By entering this Giveaway, you consent to the collection, storage, and processing of your personal data by the Sponsor for the purpose of administering the Giveaway and prize fulfilment. Your data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Personal information will not be shared with any third parties except as necessary for prize fulfilment or where required by law.

Prize Redemption: The Winner will be provided with instructions on how to redeem their train tickets and hotel stay. All further communication regarding the prize and its fulfilment will be managed by the Sponsor. The hotel stay and train travel are subject to availability at the time of booking, and all prize-related instructions must be followed.

Limitation of Liability: By entering the Giveaway, you agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and partners from any liability, injury, illness, death, loss, or damage resulting from participation in the Giveaway or acceptance and use of the prize.

Disputes: This Giveaway is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from or related to the Giveaway will be resolved exclusively by the courts of the United Kingdom.
