About

York Photo Walks take place every Wednesday at 1.00pm. Then Friday at 10.00am outside York Art Gallery.

Come and join us on this inspiring photography walk, with professional photographer Paula Duck. We will be taking in the Minster and Bar walls, The Shambles, Museum Gardens and Lendal Bridge

We start at the Minster with a 360 walk around, then a walk down to the bar walls at Bootham and up on to the walls giving wonderful views of the city. We come back down to Monkbar and walk along down to the Shambles taking in a little local history and photographing along the way. We head down to Fossgate and through to The Merchant Adventurers Hall and the beautiful Gardens . Continuing back to Parliament street and stop and stroll through The Shambles Market along onto Swinegate, then to Stonegate. We then walk to The Museum Gardens this will take in St.Mary’s Abbey, the remains of the Roman walls and The Hospitium, and then we will walk back across Lendal Bridge.

Whether you want to just learn the basics, or improve your photography skills the walk will have top tips for all abilities. Bring any camera whether it is a DSLR, Point and shoot, mobile or tablet camera. We will explore how to improve your composition in photography, what is the rule of thirds?
