Castle Howard will host a collection of sculptures in 2024 by the internationally celebrated artist Tony Cragg. This is Castle Howard’s first ever headline contemporary sculpture exhibition; sculptures will appear in the House and Grounds, including inside the Temple of the Four Winds and in the Great Hall. As part of the exhibition, ‘Over the Earth’, one of Cragg’s most famous sculptures, will be presented outdoors for the very first time.

Viewing the sculptures against the backdrop of Castle Howard’s beautiful Gardens and landscapes, and inside the magnificent halls, will make for a magical artistic experience.

The artworks on display will celebrate Cragg’s rich imagination, showing the diverse ways and materials he uses to make sculpture. The artworks are surprising, hybrid forms that challenge our thoughts and emotions. A catalogue by curator Dr Jon Wood will include an interview with the artist. The catalogue will be available to purchase from Castle Howard’s shops.
