Don’t forget, kids go free! Up to four children aged 17 and under can visit the Minster for free with a paying adult.
Take a family-friendly discovery tour
Saturdays at 11am
Discover the answers to fun questions including ‘How many blue whales can fit inside the Minster?’ and ‘Which room has a special whispering trick?’.
The tours are suitable for children aged 4+ and last 45 minutes. No booking is required.

Look for shapes, patterns and colours as you journey around York Minster with our new STEM trails: Maths Quest, Light Quest and Nature Quest. Perfect to keep little brains busy!
Grab a Little Explorer Backpack
Our Little Explorer Backpacks are filled with gadgets including maps, binoculars, and a magnifying glass to help your young adventurer discover the medieval Minster.

York Minster Opening Hours
General visiting:
Mon – Sat: 9.30am – 45pm (last admission 4pm)
Sun: 12.45pm – 3.15pm (last admission at 2.45pm).
