Foss Islands Road: Roadside parking for mini buses and motorcaravans.
Knavesmire Road: Parking available here except on race days or during special events at the racecourse.
There is also coach pick up and drop off point on Leeman Road, near York Train Station.

If you’re planning to visit York by coach at Christmas, we operate a booking system for coaches during the busier festive period for Saturdays and Sundays. We have two dedicated coach parks in the city centre and there is also coach parking around the city centre.

Coach parking during the York Christmas Market

We're delighted you're bringing your coach group to York and we’re looking forward to welcoming you to all the seasonal Christmas festivities in York. The hugely popular York Christmas Market runs from 14 November to 22 December 2024, along with our iconic, year-round Shambles Market and Food Court.

When visiting York by coach at Christmas, we operate a booking system for coaches during the busier Christmas festive period for Saturdays and Sundays only. We have two dedicated coach parks in the city centre and there is also coach parking around the city centre.

The Union Terrace coach park has 35 spaces at £65 + VAT per day to book for weekends only from 16 November to 22 December 2024.

Pullman overflow coach parking

If our sites are fully booked, we’re working with York Pullman Bus Company where you can drop off and collect your passengers at Memorial Gardens and park at York Pullman Bus Co Ltd (Wetherby Road, Rufforth, York, YO23 3QA). Please see the map reference [pdf link]. When taking this option, please ensure you contact York Pullman Bus Co direct on 07753 670742 to make a booking and payment beforehand. Weekday Parking is £15+VAT and Weekend Parking is £40+VAT. There are toilet/coach wash facilities available.

Avoiding the busier times

If you’re not visiting on the weekends during the festive period, you can benefit from a quieter time by visiting during the week where there is no booking necessary, and the normal coach parking tariffs will apply. Read the full information for coach operators – City of York Council.

City of York Council would like to remind all coach operators visiting the city to switch off their engines when they are parked or stationary for any length of time.

The Council has banned all unnecessary engine idling throughout York so as to protect the environment and people’s health.

Idling is banned in council coach and car parks and they have regular patrols to enforce this policy.

Please support the council’s ‘Kick the Habit’ anti-idling campaign and remember by remembering to switch off your engines when parked.
