Unlock York's Hidden History during the 2024 York Unlocked weekend!
Join us for a special programme of walks before and during the York Unlocked weekend of October 5th and 6th. "York's Hidden History Unlocked" will bring together York's Hidden History - our walks exploring the secrets of the city streets - and York Unlocked, opening up the city's historic buildings.
This year, we're offering three different walks, exploring the city's buildings from a medieval, photographic, and prehistoric perspective. Please click on the links below for more details on our walks, and to book your tickets:
Wednesday October 2nd, 11am-12pm
A Guilded Tour of Medieval York
Start: outside York Guildhall. Finish: St Helens Square.
Sunday October 6th, 11am-12pm & 2pm-3pm
A Photographic Tour of Victorian York
Start: outside the west end of York Minster. Finish: Clifford's Tower.
Sunday October 6th, 11am-12pm & 2pm-3pm
A Prehistoric Tour of York City Centre
Start: outside the Yorkshire Museum. Finish: Church Lane, Spurriergate.

Together, our Air, Fire, Earth, and Water walks make up the 'Elements of York'. We normally offer them on Fridays and Sundays in the spring and summer. Guilded Tours of York's Hidden History
Our Guilded Tours explore the medieval streets of York, starting and finishing outside York Guildhall. During the spring and summer, we offer the walks at 11am on the first Wednesday of each month.
